Pivy Deca Deep Image Pack for NUX MG-50

Pivy Deca is a tone pack inspired by the Peavey Decade preamp pedal, the pedal take on a cult little practice amp that found its way onto countless records thanks to its gritty, characterful drive. This pack is built on Choptones Deep Images, our captures of the original pedal for the NUX MG-50, paired with Choptones Custom IRs, so you get the genuine voice and feel of the real unit on your device.

How It Sounds

The normal channel has a raw, slightly compressed edge that cleans up nicely when you back off the guitar volume. The high gain channel pushes into a thick, saturated distortion with a vintage solid state bite, rough around the edges in the best possible way. It sits somewhere between lo-fi garage crunch and full-on rock distortion.

Each preset went through multiple sessions on the actual pedal, adjusting mic positions and cab pairings, listening for the difference between a setting that sounds impressive in isolation and one that actually works in a mix. They all sound like the same pedal, just from different angles.

What's in the Pack

The Deep Images cover the normal and the high gain channels of the pedal. The IRs were captured with Mesa and Mesa RoadKing 4x12 cabinets, a Marshall 1960 4x12 with V30, T75 and G12M speakers, and a Peavey 212-C 2x12 loaded with V30s, chosen per preset based on what each tone needed.
