Herm59 Amp Pack for Valeton GP150/GP180
Herm59 is a tone pack inspired by a Marshall SLP 1959 Super Lead rebuilt by Hermansson Amplification (5 Gain Stages). It starts from the legendary Plexi and pushes it far past its original voice: a five gain-stage metal circuit, high and low inputs, plus dedicated tightness and punch controls. The raw, aggressive attitude is still there, but now it comes with the gain, focus and low-end grip that modern high-gain playing demands. These presets were built to reproduce that character honestly, with no cosmetic processing to make things sound bigger than they are.
How It Sounds
Rolled back, the amp still shows its plexi roots, with that open midrange bark and touch sensitivity. Push it and the modded circuit takes over: tight, saturated gain that stays articulate no matter how hard you dig in. The low end holds together, the top end cuts without turning harsh, and the leads sing with sustain that responds to pick attack and volume-knob rolls. That dynamic range was the main focus when building these presets.
Each patch went through multiple sessions on the actual amp, adjusting mic positions and cab pairings, listening for the difference between a setting that sounds impressive in isolation and one that actually works in a mix. The result is a set of presets that cover a real range of uses without feeling disconnected from each other. They all sound like the same amp, just from different angles.

Aggressive rhythm crunch that stays defined, tight modern high-gain for detuned riffing, and singing lead tones with long sustain. From classic modded-plexi grind to full metal saturation, the spread across the pack is deliberate. This is a map of what the Herm59 can actually do across different playing contexts, not a collection of variations on one sound.
What's in the Pack
Cabinet and speaker selection varies per patch, chosen based on what each specific tone needed rather than applied uniformly across the whole set. Microphone choices were made for detail and translation, with an emphasis on natural response over hyped top-end. Effects are present where the patch calls for them: reverb and delay are dialed for feel, not added as decoration. Every element in each patch has a reason to be there.
