Angel 530 Deep Image Pack for NUX MG-50

Angel 530 is a tone pack inspired by the Engl Tube Preamp 530 Modern Rock, covering both its clean and its lead channel. This pack is built on Choptones Deep Images, our captures of the original unit for the NUX MG-50, paired with Choptones Custom IRs, so you get the genuine voice and feel of the real preamp on your device.

How It Sounds

The clean channel provides a clear, balanced response, with a bright toggle and a hi gain toggle for more top end and more edge. The lead channel delivers a focused distortion that turns more saturated with the hi gain toggle on, while the scoop EQ option tailors the midrange for heavy rhythm work and modern rock leads.

Each preset went through multiple sessions on the actual unit, adjusting mic positions and cab pairings, listening for the difference between a setting that sounds impressive in isolation and one that actually works in a mix. They all sound like the same unit, just from different angles.

What's in the Pack

The Deep Images cover the clean channel, clean with bright toggle, clean with hi gain toggle, the lead channel, lead with hi gain toggle, and lead with hi gain toggle and scoop EQ. The IRs were captured with an Engl 4x12 cabinet with Celestion V30 speakers using three different mics, and a Mesa 4x12 cabinet with Celestion G12M speakers using three different mics, chosen per preset based on what each tone needed.
