Pivy 6543+ - Giant Pack (230 profiles)
Seeking to recreate the sound of a Peavey 6534+ Plus
Made in the USA, this nice amp belongs to the 5150’s legacy, so high gain punchy sound, huge sustain and articulated texture of the gain structure.
Since the great Eddie Van Halen leaved the Peavey endorsement we cannot have an “industrial production” of 5150 amps anymore, but they were greatly replaced by the 6505 serie and the 6534 is just the EL-34 tubes on the power amp stage. This modding, in our opinion, offers new horizons and new possibilities for this amp and this will be well demonstrated in our videos.
Lets give you some technical data of the Peavey 6534+:
- 120 watts
- 4,8 and 16 ohms (switchable)
- 6 x 12ax7 preamp tubes
- 4 x EL-34 power tubes
- pre/post gain controls, active eq, resonance and presence controls
- 2 channel with independent eq, bright and crunch switches on clean channel.
HOW IT SOUNDS?
With an amp like this one we are so attracted to start our sound testing switching to the lead channel, and here it is, really fat sound, nice creamy mids, sustained and mix cutting soloing tones.
As previously said this amp provides a really huge amount of gain, the definition of the distorted sound is perfect, but if we turn down the pre-gain knob we can reach a full textured crunch sound and the el-34 works so well on this.
The lead channel is that one, the fury is the same of 6505 and the mojo too but with another kind of harmonics released.
The clean sound is slightly better then in the 6505 but it is really difficult to get a really clean tone, but guitarists don’t buy a Peavey 6534+ for clean tones, right?
At the same time engaging the crunch switch we can get a nice crunchy in plexy style tone, really amazing.
No worries buying a Peavey amp, the quality and the sound have no compromise and in this case, if you are a metal player you will be amazed from this 6534+.
Very affordable price and and all tones you need to rock and impress the crowd!

The first demonstration video is a “ Periphery” cover called “Muramasa”. Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor is a great fan of Peavey 6534+ amp so why don’t cover one of their song with our profiles?
Alessandro Pondrelli performed this for Choptones, using an Ibanez M80M 8 string guitar.
